What if you re a mixed race and Hispanic/Latino? What do you choose on applications?
When filling out applications, a lot of times, when they give you options to choose your race, the option for mixed race often says (not Hispanic or Latino). I wonder what I should choose for those? I never know what to do. Do I just choose the Hispanic/Latino option? It feels weird choosing that option because I feel wrong making it seem like I’m completely Latina cause I’m not. Also, do you know why they do that? Why can t you be considered mixed race if one of those races is Latino?

That's gonna happen to my niece and nephew should they decide to go to college. I think and hope
they choose the one allowing them to benefit from being heavily Amerindian on their mother's side.

Hispania was located in Europe
Latina is still located in Europe
But, if you understood Latin ideology, you'd know why mixed is excluded.
They just need a mesoamerican category already.

Hispanic and Latino are not races. Hispanic means you speak Spanish natively. Latino means you are Latin American. Any race can be Hispanic or Latino.
Most Hispanics and Latinos in the USA are Native American or mestizo. Mestizos are people who are a mix of Native American and white.
I'm not exactly sure what you are, so I can't tell you what to mark. However, I would honestly just mark whatever you're comfortable marking. It's all up to self identification, so do what makes you feel okay. Maybe even just mark other if they have it. And of course you can mark multiple boxes as well.

Where I live (Canada) it is illegal to ask for race information on a job application, so, here at least, your question is moot - as it should be.
In the USA, who knows? I might suggest mixed, but, I would likely leave that blank just as a matter of principle.

There's usually a box where you can write in your own description. I usually put: assembled in the United Kingdom from genes of more than one country of origin.
