I have tried all the meds, shampoos, ect the vets have given me. She is on oral flea/tick protection.

You have been bathing the dog to much and have destroyed its protective coat and skin oils stop bathing and the dog will begin to stink as its body tries to reproduce them quickly in order to get the skin lubrication back. However do not bathe the dog or its back to square one for the dog.And the dandruff which is in reality dander or dying and dead skin cells. Instead of bathing simply swim and brush the dog with a soft hairbrush designed for human use until its skin state betters itself. Then when it has repaired you can revert to using a normal dogs brush.

Let the vet do the blood work and make sure your grooming her all the way down to the skin to spread out her natural body oils. Bathing once a month may be too much for her skin to handle and it's drying out her skin causing the dandruff. It could also be s food allergy or she isn't getting enough vitamins or oils in her diet. Are you feeding a good quality of food?
Environmental allergies should also b ruled out as they can cause itching and a rstching in a lot ofmdogs, something as simple as a wool carpet msy have s dog sneezing or scratching, or it could be an ingredient in the dogs food.
Work with the vet, make sure you don't try all the fad and home remedies, an old remedy was giving a teaspoon full of corn oil to every 5 pounds the dog weighed to bring out the shine in the coat. After months of doing this we discovered we got fatter dogs and the coats were still dull, however this did work back in the early 1900's before processed dog food was widely available for everyone to purchase. Back then dogs ate lean unbalanced diets usually lacking in the proper amounts of oil etc.
Double check the dogs blood work, check for thyroid, Cushing disease and I cannot remember the third but it causes hair loss, dry patchy flakey skin was one of the symptoms, your vet would know the disease, it shows up in the blood work.

What did the Vet say? Did he prescribe anything for your dog?
I think it just the season. She is probably shedding pretty bad now, too.

Daily brushing, good quality food and stop bathing her as you are stripping out all the natural oils i the coat and causing this....... and/or it is a genetic issue with the line she came from

Yes, all is normal. Age not an issue as she had it when I got her at 2,5 years. She has thick fur and brushed daily.

So how old is your dog?
What TESTS were run? Was a THYROID test run? If not, WHY not? One of the first signs of low thyroid is DANDRUFF and thinning coat.
