Should Britain have stayed out the war in 1939 ?

Hitler wasnt looking to ever invade us and a lot less people may have died and the Nazis probabaly wouldnt be around now anyway. We dont want to be in the EU anymore so perhaps we should never get involved in anything going on in mainland europe

WTF are you talking about? Britain staying out of the war? Do you think Hitler would just be satisfied with taking all of Europe except England? He intended to dominate the entire world.

Wow, that's news to Hitler and the British leadership.http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/events/hitler_plans_t...

Britain can't pretend Europe isn't there.

If Britain hadn't fought the Nazis then Europe would have been totally conquered by the USSR. The only thing stopping the Soviets marching even further west was the Allied army right in front of them. Stalin didn't want to fight the US (who were the only country that could match the USSR for manpower and industrial output at the time), and so the war turned cold.

Besides, Japan would almost certainly still have invaded Burma, which would have meant war with Japan's friends Germany soon after.

    Absolutely not.

Germany was a rabid dog that needed to be put down.

Yes, undoubtedly. Communism and Marxist propaganda were the main problems facing the world at that time.

Oh so just stand back while a maniac perfects industrialized genocide. Oh no, a guy like that would never have crossed the channel. Never.

Hitler saw himself as the next Alexander the great and was pissed off over the Treaty of Versailles. There is no way that he would not have invaded England when he was finished taking the Russian oil fields

Hitler had his eye on the world, he wasn't going to stop at France. Maybe you should read about Rudolph Hess.

If Hitler did not want to invade the UK, why was Unternehmen Seelöwe formulated?

The Germans started the war. If England didn't fight back, they would be speaking German now instead of English.

Europe may have actually been better under Nazi control.
