is it just me or Buckethead is the most talented guitarist who has ever lived ? l?

please don't act like you are oldschool and **** , if u listen enough buckethead you know he is way better than hendrix. and before you say something inappropriate, buckethead has done more than 250 only guitar albums. he's heckin' genius and you just can't argue . i just asked this question because, on the first hand i want him to let you know and on the other hand i really want to acknowledge people who think that hendrix is better than Brian heckin Patrick Genius Carroll

It's just you. Buckethead is talented, the guy has got chops, but his songs are not very memorable. He's a lead guitarist, his rhythms are not something that people can get into and all that whiddly-diddly, sawdust coming off the fretboard definitely gets old fast. Is he talented when it comes to technique? Sure. Is he fast? Undoubtedly. But who gives a toss? There are a lot of technically proficient, incredibly fast shredders out there.

Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, they're both far more innovative and original than he is. Buckethead's riffs suck. They're just backing tracks for his 11 minute over-distorted solos.

He's never going to be remembered as being anywhere near as influential or groundbreaking as many of his contemporaries.

If you like him, that's great. If you want to listen to that all day, more power to ya. If you want to idolise him and sit there with scales and arpeggios for a dozen years to be able to play like that, be my guest. You'll be the amateur version of "What the feck is this rubbish, turn that noise off!"

And I've been playing for a LONG time and can actually play some of his stuff as I go in for heavier, faster, more tasteful playing. He's a boring, one trick pony, and he's nowhere near a guitar "God."

I've listened to Buckethead on a few of my Pandora stations, and IMO, a lot of it is just droning. The guy might be a technical genius but that doesn't make for great music all by itself.

Try listening to Chet Atkins and Doc Watson before thinking that "most talented guitar player" is a thing.

    P.S. Carlos Santana, Andre Segovia

You obviously have never heard Eddie Van Halen play. No old school, just fact.
