I've got a sick note until Sunday but I'm now pretty well better. Should I still just have the rest of the week off ?
Its a bad back. Nothing contagious.

Many companies won't let you come back early if you have a doctors note, they don't want other employees to get what you have.

If you're contagious, yes. If you're not, no.
If your doctor note is until Sunday, you would need another doctor note to return to work... even on Sunday.
