Girl has stopped referring to her ex as ex and now refers to him as baby father. Why?

I really like this girl and we’ve I’ve been talking to her for sometime she’d always refer to her ex as her ex but for a couple of weeks now shes been referring to him as her sons father. Why?

    The son must be getting old enough that his father's role in her life has changed. Being parents changes one's perspective whether they're a couple or not (because they still have to cooperate for at least 18 years).
