What do I do if I am shy and have no friends?

I have lost so many friends before that I have gotten to the point where I don't want to meet anyone anymore. I am very lonely, have anxiety and depression, and am never happy. I am SO shy that I can't talk to other people, but I just want to have a good friend that will stay my friend. Any advice?

Life is full of changes. Hopefully we have smooth transitions when maybe we start a new friendship before an older one fades. But since you seem to recognize what your limitations are in terms of interacting with people, you are probably going to have to try therapy to find ways to cope and come out of your shell. A very good way to meet people and feel good about yourself is by doing service for others. Maybe volunteering at a soup kitchen or senior center or other community center where you have the chance to interact socially but also have something meaningful to do where you have something in common with the other people that are also doing this might help you. It depends how old you are as to what activities might be good for you. You could also try a meetup meditation group where you basically go and just sit with a bunch of other people. Some groups have discussions before or after where you can participate or just listen. Find things that you are interested in and it will attract new people into your life. Work on yourself. When you feel happy in your own body and stop worrying so much what other people think, your life will flow so much more easily. Recognize that it is only you worrying about what other people think. Thinking that anyone cares. The truth is everyone is focusing on themselves. Try just pretending that nobody cares what you do and let your true self shine. Let go of the fear.
