Finally got around to reading 'An American Tragedy' and noticed that the same sort of incident still happens often, even 100 years later.

A good story conjures many different kinds of feelings in a reader. Why would anyone want to read a 200 page book that's nothing but sadness? A good story will incorporate many different types of emotions - you'll find something to laugh at, there will be a character to hate, one to feel pity for, one whose exploits seem shocking. No good book can be summed up in one single emotion.
