I think too many people are wanting 'others' to be PC. I will always say, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I’ve never heard of that before.

I say Merry Christmas out of habit....
...but honestly, Christians, you've been trying to hijack the midwinter solstice festivals for 2000 years, and most people still want to eat too much, get drunk, kiss under the mistletoe, fill their home with evergreen foliage etc., while you witter on about "the real meaning of Christmas". Give it a break.
If the church had had its way there would be no carols either. The medieval church did its best to ban them, as they were bawdy dance tunes about love, nature and fertility, often pagan, danced all year round. Christmas carols were a compromise: rewriting all the lyrics to make them religious and restrict caroling to the coldest time of the year.
The puritans wanted Christmas to be a day of fasting, so forget roast turkey.
If the Matthew and Luke's accounts of Jesus' birth are true (they aren't but bear with me here), they are not describing events in midwinter. The shepherds would have had their sheep indoors on December 25th

I say Happy Holidays when using it for
the grouping of holidays - Christmas and New Years and Thanksgiving too.
I say Merry Christmas for Christmas and Happy New Year for New Years and Happy Thanksgiving for Thanksgiving.
I have done this for many decades and plan to continue.
There are some who were trying to get rid of saying Merry Christmas. They used Happy Holidays and tried to ban Merry Christmas as offensive. So now Happy Holidays is offensive for that reason to some as well.
Merry Christmas!

I would only find "happy holidays" offensive if told to use it in place of "Merry Christmas".
I won't be changing something I've done from child on up just because someone else doesn't like it.

Yes, I do, and do not care who objects. This is an open forum, so others may...
Its NOT a holiday. Holidays are when you go on vacation somewhere, or its a legal day or two off ordained by the powers in charge.
Christmas is Christ's birthday (if you believe it to be so)...So, it is Merry
Christ mas, and nothing else.
Go on now, thumb me down, and have yourself a Merry Christmas too...
ps: (if I may bang my own drum? Its my birthday today... :))
