There were 3 gunshots, my husband and neighbors heard them. What I heard was 3 loud knocks on my front window. They were shooting in the street in front of my house.

Normally bullet speeds are more than sound speed. May be that these three bullets created shock waves, like sonic booms. They can knock the window panes. Here this can be three times.

No. I live in a country where people don't actually go around shooting in front of my house.
It is lucky that there are civilized people in other parts of the world.
