When should I start my birth Control?

I just got my period back on December 22nd after a year and a half of not having one and my gynecologist told me to start them on the Sunday after I got my period to regulate my cycle . I kinda forgot to start because I’ve been so busy traveling for the holidays. I wanted to know if I could start them at anytime or just not take them

Some pills are labelled so that it is easiest to remember to take them if you start on a Sunday. Others are labelled so that it is OK to start on any day. Either way you can start taking them again today (Sunday).

Ideally, you should start them when your period ends so you aren't fighting your natural hormones with the hormones of the pills.

Wait until your next period. If you don't get a period in January, call your doctor and ask what they recommend you do.

The next cycle is already started, you can take from this Sunday or any time, but you can have a little problem in this cycle which will be regularized in next cycle. You will not be protected for another ten days if started now.
