No. It's a paradox

Two "dark nights;" one of the soul--Saint John of the Cross writes of this--in which personal karma obscures (as a type of maya or delusion) the soul's personal tie with her Higher Self and God-Presence; and there is the dark night of the spirit, in which the soul, at her station or degree of development, encounters the "my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" level during which the soul sustains herself by her light, whilst the planetary delusion cuts her off from her Higher (Christ Mind and Love) Self and God-Presence; this occurs typically during the crucifixion and resurrection of a developed soul ready to become Immortal.
