Take your dog to the vet to be examined, tested for the kind of worm(s) it may have and get the proper medication from the vet. Over the counter wormers are either useless or toxic so you are wasting your money and have the potential to make your puppy sick.

BTW you do realize you have a ill bred backyard breeder puppy who may end up with a lot of genetic problems. There is NO such thing as a "teacup" any kind of bred - they are ill bred runts bred to other runts and usually have a lot of medical problems.

Dog food will not give dogs worms. If the dog goes outside or is around other dogs or cats, he can get the worms this way. You need to take the dog to the vet to find out what kind of worms he has and to get a professional worm medication.

these are tapeworms and most common walmart wormers won't treat them. I know what will, but this pup needs to go to a vet so you can' learn how to take care of it.

Dogs neither are born with worms, nor get them from food, they get ingested from hosts which harbor the eggs, such as a swallowed adult flea. After being swallowed, the eggs settle in the intestines, where they hatch, and the worms them feed off the nutrients which the dog eats in their diet, growing into segments which can potentially be up to 4 feet in length. Segments of the worm break off and pass out through the dog's feces, which also contains eggs. This allows the life cycle to continue.

Products which you can get to treat worms over the counter and in shops are not generally strong enough to combat the problem, so your best bet is to get the dog to see a vet as soon as possible. In the meantime, make sure all of the dog's poop is cleaned up immediately, and keep them well away from any poop you may see during a walk, either those left by irresponsible owners who don't pick it up, or from wildlife, as these may also contain worms.

From what I've seen, Beneful dog food is a poor quality food, so you're best swapping to something which is better quality like Arden Grange, Blue Buffalo, or Wainwright's.

    Hope this helps.

Then take the dog too a vet along with is latest stool sample this the vet will examine to type the worm, (Though I think it is roundworm that is affecting the dog from your description). The vet will then carefully weigh the dog and administer a poison too the dog that will kill the worms but not the dog.DO NOT go and buy an over the counter wormer as it may well kill such a small dog. Go to the vet to be on the safe side, that way the worming will be done properly and according to the dogs weight and size.

Beneful is garbage dog food.. But worms dont come from dog food. They come from worm eggs found in fecal matter.

There are several types of intestinal worms.. There are NO otc dewormers that will rid your dog of all types of worms.

Clean up after your dog promptly, take a stool sample to the vet so he can determine which worms EXACTLY he has, and prescribe the appripriate de-wormer.

Collect a sample of the stool (vets will supply a collection pot) and have your vet do a fecal to find out what exactly needs treating. OTC wormers don't work. Good breeders worm their bitches BEFORE being mated, so any that pass onto their puppies are minimal. Puppies should be wormed, for roundworm, at 2 weeks and every 2 weeks to the time they go to their new homes - and the new owner should be given a worming history - with what and when done.

If you have bought OTC worming meds, not only do they rarely work, but you need to know what your puppy needs treating for. At the same time, your vet should test for Giardia, Coccidia and other protozoa your puppy most probably has if you are seeing worms like that!!

Food does not give a dog worms. I have no first-hand experience of what you are feeding, but you should be using a food that lists meat, or fish, as the main ingredient, NOT CEREAL.

Good breeders do not produce tea-cup anything!!

Yes, puppies are born with worms. That sounds like tape worm. If you are using an otc wormer it is not as effective as the wormer a Vet gives. They need to be wormed on a regular basis.

Is it just little worms or do you see a long sectioned worm in the stool

    This is round worm

Dogs pick up worms from sniffing other dogs poop & pick up a worm on the nose & licked of & ingested & then thrives in the dogs intestines.

I do not worm on a regular basic because I have Elm trees & the leaves are a natural dewormer.

    Food doesn't give dogs worms"

"we gave him worm medicine but he keeps getting them" so speak to your vet and tell them that the "worm medicine" is not working.......... but if you have used OTC that doesn't work.
