I’ve been going on a few dates with this guy and the last time we saw each other was dec 21. Last time we texted was last Thursday and I initiated the conversation. He didn’t wish me a happy New Years last night and I’m kinda sad cause he’s been showing me signs that he likes me ... my friend thinks I should text him but I don’t know

No., he should initiate the next conversation if he is interested. Does not sound like he really is. Otherwise he would have seen you again since Dec 21 or tried to do so.
