What is up with all the people commenting "agajaoa" or other variations of keyboard smashing recently?

I know they have always been around, and it is a way to get points for answering questions, but what is up with the sheer volume of them recently? They are everywhere and there are multiple per question.

Those are from a spam bot attack that began in earnest on 12/28/18. Automated programs creating accounts and spamming the site with nonsense. They aren't posted by live users (at least most of them aren't, there are some live users playing copy-cat to point game). We're hoping Oath will put a stop to it soon but we don't know when that will happen as the last bot attack, last spring, took weeks to resolve.

Just Point gaming They will go away once Yahoo comes up with a Solution to Get Rid of them Unfortunately when they Attack the Yahoo Answers System its not as Easy to get Rid of them Yahoo has to Figure out a way to Block them from there Filters takes a lot of Reprogramming and Adjusting

Hopefully Yahoo will get the Community Moderation Reporting System up and Running soon and they will start Dropping
