Iron Maiden. You don't know snobbery until you met a horde of Iron Maiden fans at a concert when the opening act is playing.

I don't know if anyone would really consider fans of The Grateful Dead to be "snobby" as the wide majority of Deadheads are unemployed, long-haired stoners with a fondness for tie-dye T-shirts and an aversion to taking showers who ride around in vans and school buses from one Phish show to the next eating veggie burritos and talking about how they'll never conform to the expectations of "the man." It would be a stretch to think that any of them could possibly come off as acting superior to anybody as the average "take a penny, leave a penny" dish next to the cash register in a 7-11 likely has a greater net worth than any of them do.
However, I did once know a bloke who was so obsessed with The Grateful Dead that he went so far as to claim that Jerry Garcia was a musical genius, a statement so outlandish and ridiculous that it's hard for me even now, years later to relate it, but it's not something that carries any meaning for anybody else because those people are just so close-minded. The Grateful Dead were essentially an experience more than a band. Listening to them live, they just used their songs as a framework for extended stoner jam sessions that would put someone high on amphetamines to sleep. I don't know how they rip bong hits all day long and manage to stay awake through that rubbish.
Led Zeppelin fans don't strike me as being arrogant really, and most of them - even the most obsessive ones, are open to listening to other bands and are willing to concede that there are a lot of other good bands out there besides Led Zeppelin, so I don't tend to view them as annoying at all. Led Zeppelin were unrepentant thieves, but they have some pretty good songs to their credit. There nowhere near the top of the list for me, but I don't have anything against them or their fans.
Dream Theater is a band that you don't hear much about these days. They were fairly popular in the 90s as the bands that were still producing heavy rock and metal were becoming a bit more technical and streamlining their approach a bit more (think "Countdown to Extinction"), and bands like Amorphis and Opeth that feature more elaborate harmonies and arrangements were gaining recognition. I think Petrucci is an amazing player and Dream Theater had some really good songs, but they were never really a band that I could listen to for hours on end or anything. In terms of skill, they were all really talented, they were all music theory nerds with backgrounds studying at Berklee and their approach to songwriting was very technical, but that sense that every note was played with perfect timing and precision and forethought was something that casual music fans were turned off by. I always respected how tight they were and how all their songs were so well crafted, but they didn't have the soul and the spontaneity a lot of other bands of that era did. I guess some of their fanboys were a bit snobby, especially when it came to comparing the members' musical credentials to musicians playing in other bands, but I didn't find them to be overbearing.
I've been playing guitar for a long time and I used to really like playing technical metal, so I could probably carry on a conversation with a Dream Theater fanboy more easily than I could with a Led Zeppelin freak or a Deadhead, but that probably has more to do with my age than it does anything else. Those bands were a bit before my time, and while I'm an authority on a lot of bands that I wasn't around to get to see and experience in their prime, Led Zeppelin and The Grateful Dead wouldn't be on that list.
