Should Y!A start deleting answers like, " jl;rfake" when it's clear the poster is just racking up points?

Update:

I've found questions that had half-a-dozen of these "answers" on the first page.

The site has been under a spam bot attack since Dec. 28th. The posts are made by automated bots, not by human users. It is not known who is behind the attack or why it's happening, in spite of some posts laying blame. The bots post an 8 character string of random letters. Oath is said to be working on fixing the problem. All the users can do is report them (if you feel compelled to), ignore them, or take a break from the site until they're gone. The Chinese-appearing language spam bot attack last spring took Oath weeks to get stopped.

Any time you have a problem on the site, check the Yahoo Products>Yahoo Answers subcategory to see if anyone has already posted about it. You'll find your info faster, save 5 pts, and not end up posting a question that's been asked in one form or another already (as yours has, many dozens of times).

Hell. I'm not complaining. I have never HAD so many replies to my questions!

These are not real people but automated 'bots'. There is no point giving them thumbs down as nobody will care. The only thing you can do is report, report, report, whenever you see them.

Y!A are more interested in deleting legitimate questions and answers, than 'non' answers such as random letters or if a user posts a long rant as an answer to every question, whatever the subject.

bots are posting them faster than all of us can report...
