It’s hard to read ton in texts so it is easy to take things the wrong way. Emojis are helpful.

That's why I like to call pretty soon after I get someone's number from a dating site. You can't tell.
It might be a funny-sounding text, like something sarcastic sounding with the term, "Haha" or "LOL!" in it, and you might think that they are joking, but it might actually be something completely different. They might've taken offense to something you said. You can't tell with texting.
Half of a conversation isn't just the words that are being said, it's the tone of voice and body language too. Texting only is like driving a car with all of the windows blocked up except for one. You can only see that one direction, you can't see everything else. There are certain things that you can only tell through voice and body language.

That's the problem with texting you can take the words as having an emotion, or a way of saying them, like sarcastic, mean, when it's not.
