You should check the manual for your specific model, but here are some general guidelines: Daily, you should brush ashes away from the burn pot to keep it clear. Twice a week, you should scoop ashes out of the combustion chamber. Once a month, you should remove the baffle and clean behind it.

I would suggest you read the owners manual and see what the manufacturer recommends. If you don't have a manual, I'm sure one is available online.
