Do conservatives realize that a wall around a celebrity's house is different than a 30 ft wall on the border of a country?

    "Strong fences make good neighbors!"

    Walls serve two functions:

    1. To keep some out

    2. To keep some one in.

So if it is true that the wall around a celebrity's house is different from a wall that is meant to keep some one out, then if follows that that wall must be meant to keep some one in. Which in the case of air headed celebrity's would be a good idea. Now if we could just take away their celebrity status this world would be better off!

We sure do, why do you ask?

It's not though. If a wall is such an easy obstacle to get around, go break into a celebrity's home. You wouldn't do that though, because it's wrong, and that's the point.

I think that I understand what you are saying................. "only some walls are immoral and don't work".............. especially when a Republican wants a wall.

Yes. One is a lot longer, but does the same thing. It protects the people inside the wall.

  • I wonder if they realize that the celebrities pay for those walls themselves, too. That is, they don't force the public to pay for their protection.

I seem to remember a time when that was the conservative shtick, where you pay for something yourself if you want it. They used it in objection to the ACA covering abortions, but the principal stands. Want an abortion? Pay for it yourself. Want a 2000 mile long, open-ended wall? Pay for it yourself. And they tried, with a GoFundMe, and it's a miserable failure (When I checked it yesterday, if they kept up their average rate of growth, they'd reach the $1B mark in another 1220 days, which is down from the lofty 350 day rate they started at).

No, they have no concept scaling beyond their immediate vicinity. Like that guy that picked up a snowball and said the entire world cant possibly be warming if it snows here.

Scale is the only difference. And yes, that scale is possible and not at all unrealistic. Take a look at interstate 80 some time. It is basically two 30 feet wide walls laying on their side, stretching across the nation way further than would be required for a Southern Border Wall.

The two liberal arguments that walls don't work, and that building them is impossible are just hogwash.

Yes. The difference is the rich guy gets a wall, the masses don't.
