Would the 4 gospel writers have any reason at all to lie about Jesus?

Yes. Lets say four fans of Steven King get it into their heads that he is the Son of God. And they write four books to support their claim. 2000 years from now people point to the books and say that is proof that Steven King is the Son of God. Thru the years the truth got lost and no one questions the goals of those that wrote the books. Books written by FOLLOWERS are always to be suspected of a large amount of bias. Now, if they happen to turn up a book written by a Roman telling all about Jesus and what he did, totally independent of any influences of the Catholic church, then you might have something. (Josephus's accounts were doctored by the Catholic church so his account about Jesus is also bias.)

    Yes.

They were peddling a new religion.

Same way Joe Smith lied about Jesus and Moroni appearing to him, the gospels which are ATTRIBUTED TO, but probably NOT written BY Matthew, Mark, and Luke describe Moses and Elijah appearing to Jesus, while Jesus glowed like a firefly.

And those three Gospels claim JOHN was an eyewitness.

But the Gospel attributed to JOHN, does not mention it.

Since Christians point to those passages in those 3 Gospels, where the VOICE OF GOD confirms that Jesus IS the Son of God, as PROOF that Christianity is true, it seems strange that the only Gospel alleged to have been written BY an eyewitness, didn't think it worth mentioning.

It would have been the one most important event in John's entire life, and yet...... pffft!

The Bible is the inspired word of Jehovah God. He has preserved it through every imaginable attempt to discredit and destroy it. The honesty of those used to record the gospel accounts need not be questioned.

No. They were inspired by God, and God can not lie.

No. I think their fear of their God kept them from even thinking about lying about anything while they recorded the events involving Jesus.

Idk, did they not all (or most of them) die trying to spread said gospel?

Actually I'd think they'd have a reason to all get their story straight.
