He inherited a good unemployment rate from Obama. If you look at the average rate of decrease in unemployment in Obama's later years it is actually much better than Trump's. This is why it is meaningless when Trump tweets that it is "the lowest in years." It would have been the "lowest in years" if a single person got a job after he took office.

The economy is something I rarely give a president credit for beyond the confidence instilled in people and businesses.
