After our trip to Cartagena in Colombia I was wondering the homicide rate of just Cartagena. I know the rate of Colombia is pretty high.?

    If you get involved with drugs, drink too much, wear jewelry/fancy watch, carry a lot of money in public, take your iphone out in public, then it's about 25% chance you will not come back alive. Also, if you happen to get robbed, don't resist. Hand over your stuff quickly and quietly. Even a slight hesitation can end badly for you.

    If you act like a smart traveler and leave all your valuables at home, stay sober and alert, stick to the beaten path, don't flash cash in public, don't pull out your fancy cell phone , then you'll have no problem 99.5% of the time.

    In case you missed the point, DON'T MAKE YOURSELF A TARGET, AND YOU'LL BE FINE. TOURISTS ARE RARELY KILLED RANDOMLY. IT'S USUALLY OVER DRUGS, OR RESISTING DURING A ROBBERY.
