Can blogging be a source of income?

I'm in need of a better job (income); in lieu of it, can blogging provide a source of income and is there a way to set up blogs for free?

    It takes many years to build up enough traffic to have a decent income.

    Any blogger today who has a lot of traffic probably started 10-15 years ago.

    So, if you start today, you might be making decent money by 2030 or so.

    If you're good enough at it to have people want to pay to read what you write. Look into Jordan B Peterson's project, I think he's trying to start something up for all voices to have a chance to make money for their thoughts.

    If you can draw enough viewers & sell enough advertising, I suppose it could be. Most people probably could not. And if you could, you would know how.
