I am flying into Denver and make a road trip starting and finishing in Denver?

    Why don't you ride the A-train downtown. Go to REI, get a tent and a backpack and wool clothes and food. Then take the green line to mineral station, get an Uber to Waterton Canyon and then hike the Colorado Trail all the way down to Durango? It would make a great story.

    Rocky Mountain National Park

    Dip into Utah and visit Canyonlands, Zion and Arch’s National Parks.

    And Mounment Valley Navajo Park. Then head back to Denver.

    Check the weather if you plan to drive into the mountains. March and April are two of the three snowiest months here
