Google Play download torchlight, question is why bother if all smartphones already have lights on that can be used as a torch?
Why do people download torch lights to smart phone if smart phone already has a torch light you cannot get a light from a phone that did not have a light already installed so why is this that people are still downloading them

People don't pay attention to details.
My phone doesn't have a "torch", and I'm glad it doesn't.

I now carry a Nebo 6700 in my pocket.
No phone required.

You assume all smartphones have a pre-installed torchlight/flashlight. And you assume incorrectly. People download them to have them when they need them (of course).
Many pre-installed torch apps, do not activate unless you first unlock the phone. Many third party torch apps can be activated without needing to unlock the phone.
Oh and as long as the phone has a flash led for the camera, it has a torch.
