If a worker gave me a free product, does it come out of her paycheck?

Let’s say I was purchasing mositurizer today. I didn’t have my credit card on me and the place didn’t accept cash. A worker said not to worry about it and gave me it for free as a gratuity. I thanked her a ton, but would this come out of her paycheck?

It was "on the house." I doubt she would pay for it. She may or may not have permission, but she is a paid professional capable of some discretion. It is probably good business. She knew you for a chump the minute she set eyes on you and now she is reeling you in. Unless of course you never go back. C'est La Vie.

There's no clear answer for that.

She could have paid for it later.

She may have permission to give it to you for free.

But of course it could have been considered stealing on her part. You would be in the clear as you don't know what allowed her to give it too you.
