Why do people continue to get a lot of sun exposure, even though it damages and ages skin and makes them look (alot) older than their peers?

Why do people continue to get a lot of sun exposure, even though it damages and ages skin and makes them look (alot) older than their peers? Many people make no effort to use sunscreen or moisturize or stay out of the sun.

    Many, people especially the young, simply do not think about their future looks. Too many of them just want to live for today.

    It's rumored that tans make one look thinner and/or healthier. Most people do not worry about it - until they get the cancer diagnosis.

    Because they look better right now, and don't care what they look like when they are old, because they will be old, and who cares what old people look like?
