Christians, what are we to make of the parable of the righteous and unrighteous Matt 25:31-46 w.r.t salvation?

It does seem we have to do things.

Update:

The righteous and unrighteous both called the master "Lord". They were all believers.

Update 2:

Chris: since you have me blocked.... don't overlook the context. Paul talks about "the works of the law", not just good deeds in general.

To answer your question yes. Matthew 25's parables are all about our actions. It makes clear we are judged by our actions. So in verses 31-46 what separates the sheep from the goats are their deeds ."You that are accursed, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not give me clothing, sick and in prison and did not visit"(Matthew 25:41-43).

Same thing in the Parable of the Talents in verses 14-30. The two servants who were given talents(money) invested it and yielded resulted. The lazy servant dug his Talent into the ground thinking that just because he received a lot of money that makes him entitled to do nothing with it. Both of these Parables refute the false and heretical doctrines of Cheap Grace and Easy Believism that is prevalent in certain strands of Evangelicalism that says it doesn't matter what you do, as long as you have a personal relationship with Jesus everything is overlooked.

SOLA FIDE (Faith Alone) is a man made doctrine that came out of the Protestant Reformation. Christians must have a balance for Faith and Works, the latter of which will especially be tested by fire, all works good and bad. If a man has faith (or certain unchallenged belief) but ignores the hungry, the poor, and is just like a Pharisee, then that does not speak well about his heart. If a woman does all the most wonderful works, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, donating to many charitable organizations to fight cancer and so forth, but has no or little faith, that also doesn't speak well of the heart.

Faith without works is dead, works without faith is but a hollow gesture to God, but Living Faith organically produces Works according to God's Good Pleasure. The many Mormons and other cults believe the religious exercises and communal services are what will really count, but their faith will be abhorrent to God. The Protestant who, zealous for the Faith Alone doctrine, has much faith but fails to live his faith out for the benefit of others when he well could have will not be looked upon kindly by Jesus.

Let not your "faith" outweigh your actions in this life, neither be satisfied in your own good works towards your fellowman while neglecting your relationship with God. BALANCE DAMN IT! That's the key, lol. ;-D

The righteous and unrighteous will not receive salvation since god doesn’t exist!

That's not a parable, those are statements of things yet to come when we are judged based on our actions. Did we seek truth and God's guidance and did we serve others or did we just get served?

AS it states: people that do Beleive in GOD and that GOD sent Jesus as the Christ, and obey all that is required of us; shall go to Heaven!

Yet those that think they are big and care for no one but themself; are aimed for Hell!

Going to heaven cannot include any works (Romans 4:5).

Matthew 25:31-46 is not a parable. It is about the return of Jesus Christ, not about the church. The church is raptured before the seven year tribulation, which is seven years before Jesus returns to have this judgment of the nations. The nations that went through the seven year tribulation, are judged based on their treatment of the Jewish people (the Lord's brethren) as well as their treatment of those that became believers after the rapture.

The Gospel remains the same. We are saved by believing in Jesus without works (Romans 4:5). Doing works after salvation gets rewards, not salvation. The rewards are inherited, and they during the tribulation that become believers, also inherit rewards in the kingdom (Matthew 25:34). They are already sheep by believing in Jesus without works.

The goats are unbelievers, and they get additional judgment for persecuting the Jews and new believers alongside the antichrist and his world government. But they're already damned for their unbelief.

So see how all the Bible works together. Romans 4:5 says that you can't add any works to salvation. Works are for the sake of love and rewards, but don't add even one work to salvation, otherwise, you go to hell.

Jesus loves you and wants to bless your life freely :) Most of all, Jesus wants you with Him forever, and not in hell. The truth is that every belief except one will lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire for every person. Because nothing pays for our sins except the death and blood of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus that is already accomplished by Him . Jesus loves you! The truth is that Jesus is God, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works, not deeds, not religions. So the only way to heaven and to avoid hell, is by believing in Jesus for eternal life (John 6:47), without adding any of your own works (Romans 4:5). Believe in Jesus to take you to heaven, and you will be in heaven, no matter what, guaranteed. That easy, thanks to Jesus! Tell Jesus that you thank Him that you will be with Him in heaven when you die, because you believe in Jesus! It is too late to be saved, after death.

    ADDED

That's a trick that false teachers with false gospels try to use, but the law is good. The law is acts of love (Romans 13:10), and as good as acts of love are for other reasons, they still can't be added to what gets a person into heaven. Your filthy "works" apart from the law, aren't better than the law. If the law can't be added to salvation, neither can your filthy "works". So you are wrong, and your cult leads to eternal torment in the lake of fire due to teaching works for salvation.
