  • Muslims, why would God not protect the Bible while protecting the Qur'an from flaws?

Better Christians don't answer, as I'm one of you, and this is a challenge to Muslims, not you. Reply to answers, however, as the Spirit moves you.

Muslims love to say that the Holy Wise Qur'an is protected from corruption and point out that the Old and New Testament is corrupt. We are able to compare ancient manuscripts and see what mistakes came, but with the Qur'an we cannot prior Uthman. Regardless the Qur'an's preservation, why didn't God prevent the corruption of the Bible, as he supposedly did for the Qur'an?

  • Why was Enoch written?

Surely the Book of Enoch was not written by THE Enoch Seventh from Adam, but its being written is problematic, if by an Israelite true to the Jewish faith. I can see Gnostics forging their gospels etc. to promote their ideas, but I struggle to understand the existence of the 1st Enoch. I'm only more confused then by the following 2nd & 3rd Enoch, Jubilees, etc. What exactly was the motivation for composing the Book of Enoch if it is not truly an inspired book?

  • How do Eastern Orthodox explain John 16:7?

It is my understanding that the Eastern Orthodox holds that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father ONLY.

The verse I struggle with then is John 16:7...

But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

I'm aware the Bible also says,

    John 14:16

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever... And...

    John 14:26

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.

But what do the EO do with John 16:7?

  • Walk-in Dance Studios in the Las Vegas / Henderson area?

Can anyone name for me a place in South Nevada that teaches Ballroom Dancing, West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, or the like? A place you can walk in for an entrance fee, take an hour lesson, followed by maybe dance recess?

  • Tarot as a non-supernatural tool? (See details to understand) ?

Playing with the Ouija board is one thing (don t do it!), but what about tarot cards? If tarot is used as a tool, with NO BELIEF or faith in these pieces of card board as possessing supernatural abilities, can that be allowed? What about a coin flip or a magic 8 ball? Certainly nothing magical there, but can the same apply to tarot cards? The use of them without faith in tarot?

  • How do Creationists account for the Americas etc?

There is something that I've never seen settled, and that is in regards to the habitation of the America's, Hawaiian Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Easter Island, etc. If the World Flood happened literally covering all lands for 40 days/nights, and only Noah's family and saved animals repopulated the world, how did such remotely unreachable lands separated by great waters get so populated in such a short period of time?

  • Why do Jews quote Sirach as Scripture?

    Raba [again] said to Rabbah b. Mari: whence can be derived the popular saying, ‘A bad palm will usually make its way to a grove of barren trees’? – He replied: This matter was written in the Pentateuch, repeated in the Prophets, mentioned a third time in the Hagiographa, and also learnt in a Mishnah and taught in a baraitha: It is stated in the Pentateuch as written, So Esau went unto Ishmael [Genesis 28:9], repeated in the prophets, as written, And there gathered themselves to Jephthah idle men and they went out with him [Judges 11:3], mentioned a third time in the Hagiographa, as written: Every fowl dwells near its kind and man near his equal [Sirach 13:15];

-Babylonian Talmud, Seder Nazikin, Baba Kamma 92b

…..And R Aha b. Jacob said: There is still another Heaven above the heads of the living creatures, for it is written: And over the heads of the living creature there was a likeness of a firmament, like the colour of the terrible ice, stretched forth over their heads above [Ezekiel 1:22]. Thus far you have permission to speak, thenceforward you have not permission to speak, for so it is written in the Book of Ben Sira: Seek not things that are too hard for thee, and search not out things that are hidden from thee. The things that have been permitted thee, think thereupon; thou hast no business with the things that are secret [Sirach 3:21-22]

  • What is the difference between Islam and Bábism?

So what is the difference between Islam and Bábism? Bábism developed out of Islam, led by "The Báb," but what did he bring to the Bábi faith that makes it specifically different from the Islamic faith? I know it denies Muhammad as the 'final prophet', claims resurrection, judgement, etc, are symbolic, but how in "practical terms" does Bábism differ from Islam? Maybe also, if anyone happens to know, how does Bábism differ from Bahá'ísm?

    PS

I am Christian, not seeking to change that, so please

no preaching. This is simply an intellectual inquiry.
