Oh boy, there's a lot of things I could answer with but there's no specific answer that works with everyone. I would highly recommend a therapist or talking to someone you trust, but maybe that's why you're on here.
Usually, people are depressed because of history (aka medical) or what's happening in their lives (aka situational). Could there be something in your life that's making you in a funk more than usual? Or has this been happening for a long time? A licensed professional can discern that and help you from there.
Or, based on your comment, it could be SAD (seasonal affect disorder), where less sunlight makes you gloomy. This is an easy fix, and you just need a lamp with an LED light that simulates natural sunlight. This is very common during the winter (look it up).
Whatever it is, just think about the situation and adjust accordingly- get the help, or try to solve the root.
