What does it mean when a man asks you to cover up?

I was at a house party with my boyfriend last week. My boyfriend s brother-in-law saw me dancing while my boyfriend wasn t around and literally out of nowhere asked me to cover my boobs. I was wearing a slightly revealing top (a vest top with jeans) that could have been pulled up to hide absolutely all boob. Also, this isn t the first time he s said this to me at other house parties. I felt embarrassed and kinda annoyed at the request so I just said that I was okay thanks. He didn t respond. But my question is why he asked me in the first place? My boyfriend would have said something if he thought what I was wearing was too revealing but he was comfortable with it so why wasn t his sister s husband?

chris n asked the right question here, which delivered your answer. He's a control freak and it has nothing to do with his morals. Next time he comes riding up on his big white horse to save the day from your boobs, just flash him. That'll shut him up.

Because he thought you were embarrassing yourself by looking like a red light district person. A vest is not a proper garment, by itself, to flaunt in front of your brother in law. What he as telling YOU is he was not interest as clearly you were coming on to him and any man in range!

He strikes me as a religious freak where as a woman should only show bare flesh to her husband---tell him to bog off and mind his own buisness

You need to discuss this guy with your boyfriend. Sounds like he's implying you are some sort of floozy which is insulting. Is he a control freak to your b/f's sister?

He is jealous that his wife hasn't got the equipment that you have. That's all it can be as most normal guys are happy to be entertained by female flesh. Just ignore the creep if he remarks again. Smile and jiggle some more!
