    2 NO + O2 --> 2 NO2

    Since all of the NO has been consumed and since you still have some O2 remaining, NO is the limiting reactant in the diagram.

    Limiting reactant .....

    2NO(g) + O2(g) --> 2NO2(g)

    ...6............6 .............. 0 .................. before

    ...0............3 .............. 6 .................. after

    NO is the limiting reactant. There is an excess of O2. The yield is 6 molecules of NO2, which is proportional to the 6 molecules of NO. The balanced equation indicates that 1 molecule of O2 will react with 2 molecules of NO, and that 3 molecules of O2 will react with 6 molecules of NO. It's the same ratio.

    6 molecules NO.... 2 molecules NO

    ---------------------- = ----------------------

    3 molecules O2..... 1 molecule O2
