2008 Honda Civic EX with Navigation, AUX doesn't work?

So I got this car today, and I m trying to figure out how to play auxiliary since it does not come with Bluetooth. The manual says that once the navigation system detects an AUX, the AUX tab will appear. Unfortunately it doesn t for me, I ve tried just about everything I can think of and there are other people online who are having the same issue. If anyone has a fix for this issue please let me know

    the older cars are not compatible with the newer smart phone technology.

    I purchased a new Acura TL in 2008. One of the main reasons for selling it last year, is that most of the functionality between the phone and the car no longer worked.
