Thermostat won’t go below 72?
I’m living in a dorm at college so I can’t really check anything out if there’s something wrong, hoping someone will know how to override or something? My roommate and I don’t agree on the temperature and I just came back from class and saw it was at 71 (she had it set for 76!!). Went to turn it down to 69 which is normally as low as it goes and the perfect temperature for me, and suddenly it won’t go below 72? I can’t imagine my roommate figured out how to override it considering I can’t figure it out. It’s a Schneider electric thermostat, there aren’t that many options. I’ve tried pressing/holding the override button and absolutely nothing happens

Hmmmm, you should be able to override the thermostat setting easily. If not, I would call the company with the model number and get some tech support.
I knew someone in navy housing who set up a candle by her thermostat to fake it into a lower temperature mode of operation. LOL

Call the manufacturer and explain your situation.

Contact the maintenance department.
If your system is anything like the building where I work, that thermostat is actually wired as a temperature sensor and the REAL settings are controlled by a computer somewhere else that you have no control over.
Studies have shown that putting a DUMMY thermostat near people that complain about office temperature is the most effective way to make them more comfortable.

The thermostat is broken. Or the dorm has programmed the thermostats to not go lower than 72.

Check out the video linked below for a different model Schneider thermostat. Hopefully it can help you.
