Atheists: Have you ever encountered a believer who is able to at least try to rationalise their position logically?

I don't expect you'd find many here given they think assertions are somehow facts in and of themselves.

There is no logic that they can use.

I've had a few. I have yet to encounter any self proclaimed Christian on this forum to even attempt it.

Atheists are the least able to follow reason and logic and they have massive comprehension problems.

They are not called fools for nothing.

I don't know whether I've "encountered" one or not. I've known many, many Christians, some of whom have been/are quite close friends but the subject of religious beliefs has never come up.

Yes, I've seen them try to rationalize their position logically. The key word there is "try". Where they fail is usually in the premises of the logical argument, stating things that are false and/or unproven as if they are true like Descartes did, but also many just don't understand how logical argument and debate works (they don't understand the if/then, and/or/not nature of it).

[Regarding Rene Descartes, he is one of the most famous philosophers in history who came up with the "I think, therefore I am" argument. In one of his arguments regarding existence, which may have been that same one I just mentioned but I'm not sure because it's been 16 years since I was in a philosophy class, his argument was based on the premise that his god exists. But his premise was an assumption which he did not prove to begin with, therefore making his entire argument fallacious even if it made logical sense based on those premises. Theists very often do the same sort of thing, making arguments on the assumption that their god exists, even when the argument is whether or not their god exists.]

I've never met an atheist that could logically rationalize bacteria becoming people or how the matter and gasses needed to make the earth and the universe just appeared and came together

Don't get all proud of your God-less brethren there, sparky. I often encounter atheists who embarrassingly attempt to use logic to rationalize their positions. I already see at least one of them answering this question. So obviously they are too numb to even realize their daftness.

Yes, they try. But without substance they fail every time. Pretending god is not rational. They constantly make claims that they can not back up, the facts refute those claims. Their position is not logical, logic also refutes them.

Logically? Not as I understand the word.

Thoughtfully and intelligently? Yes. There's a handful on this board.
