Can Police switch off electric cars remotely and end chases?

Update:

All electric vehicles will be fitted with a digital code enabling them to be switched off remotely for law enforcement purposes.

Not paid your tax bill?

A Court judgement could turn off your car until its paid.

Owe alimony, child support, parking fines, etc?

    They will need a Court order to do so, but the technology is already there and Tesla are building these cars with so-called Anti-theft technology that can be utilised for remote disablement.

    Scary stuff. Stick with older gas vehicles.

    I have read recently tat the police are investigating devices that can fry a cars electronic systems from a distance.

    I sincerely hope so. There's too many idiots on the road, no tax, no insurance, no mot, drug and drink driving and so on, and so on.

    With advancing technology I don't think that will be necessary. Fingerprint and retina scans will prevent unauthorised use of electric vehicles and we won't even drive them ourselves. It will be a boring world and I think we're living in the best time automotively.
