Because if Trump is successful in bringing North Korea into the modern world, the left will have lost influence and power. The left can't tolerate that and so must to everything it can to undermine the President's efforts on behalf of our national and international best interests.

Bernie Sanders praised Trump for talking with North Korea. It is not "the left" who are opposed to peace. It's establishment Democrats, for partisan reasons.

Obama was doing peace talks with Cuba, which Trump destroyed in just a few years. Why should I give Trump credit for trying to improve relations with the DPRK when he destroyed the improvement of relations with Cuba that we got from the last president? Trump didn't even accomplish anything, either, because he wouldn't budge on sanctions, while Obama did improve relations with Cuba because he loosened the sanctions a little bit. Obama actually managed to strike a deal with Cuba, Trump completely failed to strike a deal with the DPRK, while at the same time destroying relations with Cuba.

He had a chance to 'de-nuclearize' Kim. You know what he did, instead? Gave him money and supplies and reduced sanctions. For nothing.

Now he's back over there again. To give him more goodies, I expect.
