The garden designer is making a scale model of the whole design to exhibit during the exhibition. The length of the garden is metres and its width is 28 metres What scale will she need to use if the length of the model has to fit against a wall-space measuring 1.3m? Scale-

    I'm a little confused.

    Are you saying it's square the length and width are 28 metres?

    Fi so, then

    1.3m by 1.3 m

    Scale would be

    28:1.3 or 21.5:1

    What is the length of the garden. You missed that value. Lets say it is 100 m, then the scale will be

    1.3 : 100 or 13:1000

    Now plug is the given length value instead of 100 and you get the scale

    exact fit ... 280:13

    .... I would use 280:14 ... reduces to 20:1 >>> easier to work with
