how do i tell the kid in my precalc class i’m gay without sounding obnoxious?

I think the best way would to make it a joke kind of thing. Just ask him "Are you flirting with me?" (If you already know you can skip this step) Then tell him, "I'm really flattered, but you're not my type." He'll probably ask what you mean to which you can reply "I'm not into dudes/men/males." (Whatever fits your lingo) He clearly doesn't get the hints so the direct approach is the best approach.
