Johnny Carson and David Lettermen were very funny. Putting aside the slanted politics, is the present cast of late show hosts actually funny?

Seth Myers? Stephen Colbert? The very silly Jimmy Fallon (like him but his "comedy is adolescent) Jimmy Kimmel?

These guys are funny??

TREVOR NOAH?????? THIS GIU IS UNFUNNY IN MY OPINION.

Update:

Also, both Carson and Letterman were VERY SMART. Is present cast of late show hosts smart?? Jimmy Fallon???

I don't think so

The current state of Late Night Comedy lends better to political activism. It's chalked full of gripes instead of jokes. The intelligence has been reduced to "orange bad man" and "cave man conservatives". If you hear those words, laugh.

The benefit with Carson, Lettermen, and Leno were that they told jokes about both sides and slapped anyone where possible. It wasn't heavy handed.

If you don't like them, don't watch, but have you noticed that the only right wing comedian is in the Oval Office and he isn't funny, either.

I don't watch any of them because they cannot seem to separate their politics from their humor, cutting off half their audience

    from what I have seen

Kimmel takes it way too personally

Myers is a one trick pony with his snarky "takes"

    Colbert is annoying

    Haven't seen Trevor Noah

Jimmy Fallon seems to be by far the most entertaining, imaginative and interactive of them all.

They are funny to people who have no idea what funny is and just laugh because the guy sitting next to them is laughing. Its called CONFORMIST COMEDY

Yes, especially James Corden. He is hi-freaking-larious! Did you see his bit Fill Your Guts or Spill Your Guts last night with the Jonas brothers? So funny.

By the way, Johnny Carson, loved him, very classy, great interviewer, but not very funny. Just ho-hum funny. As for David Letterman, I didn't find him funny at all. Not at all. I found it super annoying how he thought he was funny, though. Nobody laughed more at his super lame jokes than he did.

Here's the funniest thing--ROTFLOL funny--I've seen of late from one of these shows, though I saw it on YouTube and not right when it happened:
