Should Javy Baez be the Cubs SS and should Addison Russel be moved to 2nd?

To me think Javy had earned the right to be the Cubs everyday SS. I think with Addison Russell not only having to serve a suspension for DV but his underachieving season last year, Addison has to re establish himself as a secondbaseman or a utility infielder. Ben Zobrist and Ian Happ are also qualified to be at 2nd but they can be moved around. Baez is excellent at either SS or 2nd but I think it's his right to chose where he wants to play.

who knows what the Cubs will do with Russell. he still has his suspension to serve and will miss the first month or so of the regular season. so Zobrist will probably be the primary 2b with happ maybe backup. if Hoerner continues to do well in the minors like he is so far this spring, he should be at least a September call up for depth depending on how we are doing in the standings and resting starters.

I would like to see Hoerner called up during Russell's suspension, then use him as backup to Zobrist at 2B, then move him back down to AA or AAA when Russell is back. then go from there. but i doubt the cubs will do that. they pride on their farm and development system before bringing up players.

but i would also like to see Javy at SS. better range there i think.

See, it's real baseball. So your offense doesn't dictate where you play on defense, your defensive ability does, and Russell is a superior defensive shortstop, so that is where he plays.

Jewstein and his little dog, Maddon, seem determined to wreck this team. The Jew was talking about trading away players in July before camp was even underway and the fact that he didn't can Maddon even he and the team failed miserably last indicates the organization isn't serious about contending this year.

So it's clear that Russell will take over at short when his suspension is up and Baez will get jerked around again. The Cubs will be pretenders this year thanks to the morons running the team. They could have had a dynasty but they were too lazy and stupid to sustain their success.

I honestly don t think I want to see Russell back on the team. I know its not my call, but what he did to his ex wife is uncalled for. He s doing well in spring training but I think the cubs may send him down to triple a for a while.
