How long should I wait?

I purchased a game console last month but then the ebay seller canceled the order, on Monday I got a email saying that he gave me a refund and It’s supposed to appear on my bank account because it takes 3-5 days and now it’s 6 days and it still doesn’t show up on my account though now I’m thinking about doing an dispute but I’m not sure if it’s early for me to do that.

Ebay won't let you do anything for so long and then when you do open a case, it just gives them more time.

If you suspect you were scammed, open it as soon as possible. But realize that ebay assumes all transactions are honest mistakes so nothing is fast about their process. But rest assured that eventually you will be made whole.

It will not help if you call ebay. Their system is set to assume the other party is honest and even if you are sure they are not, you still have to wait.

I had a scam seller bounce a refund so the expected transfer never came and I had to wait like 10 days to open a case and then another week to see the refund in my account.

I've learned the hard way that no matter if you are 100% sure the other party is a scammer, your refund will not come any faster. So relax. Open a case when you can & follow up when you can. But you can't make anything happen sooner than their system will allow it.

You're covered. You will be made whole. It just won't be as fast as you might like it.

Monday was 5 days ago, not 6. (Today is Saturday.) And they don't count weekends. Check again on the next Monday (in two days from now).

How exactly did you pay? If you went through Paypal, using your bank account, the money only refunds as far as Paypal. To show up in your bank account, you'd have to manually push it over.

If you used a credit card through Paypal, the refund would be visible in the account history (if you drill down), but would then bounce to the card. In my experience card refunds can take until the end of the billing cycle to show up.

by the way, eBay's Purchase History page now shows refunds.

those days are business days aka Mon to Fri only + how did you pay for the item ?? most ebay sellers can't and won't sell to someone w/o a paypal account or a credit card

What is the Seller's rating? Are there other negative ratings similar to yours? I wouldn't wait too much longer, before involving eBay..

if its past the date that it was supposed to be delivered you can start a dispute .. after that i wouldnt hesitate .. alot of the sellers like to play games .. nail them to the wall ..
