Why do liberals think insulting Trump is going to somehow keep him from a 2nd term?

Let's be clear about it: Trump is doing whatever is required to ensure he won't be re-elected all by himself. Actually, he DID most of the stuff that will land him in jail quite some time ago already.

Insulting Trump, we do only for the lulz.

Nobody thinks that. Insulting Trump is just for sport. What's going to keep him from a second term is the enormity of our votes. We dropped the ball in 2016 because we thought Clinton had it in bag and so a lot of us didn't bother to vote, so Trump won by the skin of his teeth on a technicality that afforded him that win even though he didn't win the popular vote. We've learned our lesson, though. It won't happen again. Once bitten, twice shy, as they say, meaning you only get one bite at that apple, and it's already been got.

It's not like they're capable of forming a cogent argument so Liberals will go with what they know. I can't wait to see the Democrats' attempts to get President Trump supporters to vote Democrat, after Democrats have spent over 2 years insulting every person who supported Trump.
