How do I live with parents who are very very unsupportive of the lgbt community?

I’ve figured out that I’m asexual and possibly panromantic (definitely not straight though) I have a friend who is non-binary (they don’t know this) and I love them dearly and it’s so hard to hear them bash it and say it’s insane or disgusting and abhorrent. Any tips for staying strong it feels so hard everyone but said friend is at least openly pretty against lgbt or maybe just okay with it existing. I feel like I don’t have anyone to talk to and just it feels so hard

You just have to lay low till you are on your own and payimg your own bills. This will happen soon enough. Why not pick a very pro lgbt college far from home where you can be out on the down low?

Build a new family. You don’t get to pick the one you are born to but you do get to pick the one you create as an adult. Choose wisely - stay away from drugs and mean spirited people. Try local gay community centers, local pro lgbt churches, lgbt charities, lgbt rec leagues and lgbt youth groups.

Then - when you are on your own - out your self to your folks. Try to teach them. It may take a few years and there might be some holidays apart - but that’s why you built up that other family. But your folks did change your diapers - so always try and engage and teach them and maybe some day they just might come around.
