After years and years of being conditioned by the media, many Americans are comfortable, even like, the idea of being a scofflaw or a criminal and getting away with it. They admire Trump for that.

He is a draft dodger, a shady businessman, a liar, a bully, and yet, people support him. My guess is most who do are in a way similar to him in some way or another, and they admire and support him because they see themselves reflected in him.
