I have been cast in an am dram play as a woman and will have to wear a satin dress and petticoat and a bonnet but I'm too shy. Advice?

Anyone who considers himself (or herself) to be an actor, amateur or professional, understand that it involves taking on a role, no matter what that role is.

Why are you doing am dram if you're too shy to act in any role?

Either get over yourself and do it, or quit.

Find another interest as theater is not for you.

Truthfully: why would anyone here care?

Most anyone who is up for it would play the role for comedy value and just have fun with it. But if you are going to be a Melting Snowflake, tell your teacher that you would prefer not to do it.
