What is the best question you ever asked?

I took over a poorly run store in a chain and 2 months in we had a regional meeting. After the owner and GM spoke we were told there was no such thing as a stupid question. A few minutes of silence I raised my hand. They acknowledged to everyone that I had just taken over Store#13 and proclaimed I had what it took to turn it around. What's my question? I thanked them and asked, "It's obvious the #13 was really the issue and could I have #27, the next # up. The GM said, "I stand corrected. There ARE stupid questions".

Yes, but it started ball rolling with the 10 other managers and instead of 30 minutes polled for well over an hour and continued after our meal. The final presentation was cancelled and the information was sent out. The next morning the owner and GM called and asked if I'd travel to the west side meeting as they had never seen a meeting so productive.
