Can my boss turn up at my house if I leave without notice?
The management in my work (I only work weekends in a shop) are horrible. They keep coming up with stupid rules and shouting at us for every little thing and I’ve just had enough. We aren’t even allowed a drink of water behind the till now which I’m sure is again human rights. I’ve got another job and got my starting date in a few weeks so I was planning to leave soon anyway. But today I went in and had to be spoken to by the manager because I was 10 minutes early for my shift instead of 20!! And also because we have to try and sell perfumes to customers at the till and because I haven’t been selling enough I was given a formal warning. So instead of waiting to get another warning and get the sack I just handed in my notice letter during my shift and walked out. I know it’s unprofessional but I just couldn’t stand the environment any longer - it’s really getting me down. I’m just worried my boss will turn up at my house tonight demanding to know why I walked out of the shift.

If he shows up you could start by telling him that you want overtime for every day you were forced to come to work early without pay and that you are going to the labor board about it. Then slam the door in his face.

Why would he bother, you are now no longer an employee to him. He's not going to leave work and drive to your house, you are just a shop assistant.
As for the water, few shops allow this behind tills, you don't see Tesco workers swigging drinks. You have a tea break for that.

Your former boss won't show up at your house. He or she will CELEBRATE having one less SPOILED BRAT on the payroll.

None of his business, but i hope that they do not owe you any wages, because you would not get it.

No, that would be totally weird. And It sounds like he knows you were not a good fit for the job. Plus, people come and go from part-time retail jobs all the time, he's used to it.

Of course your boss can come to your house unless you have a restraining order against him. So what? If he wants to know why you quit, either tell him or don't.

" I just handed in my notice letter during my shift " so no need for him to find out why you handed in a notice letter explaining

You gave him a letter, why would he do that? Even if he did, just don't open the door. That's why we have LOCKS.
