So what makes you assume if someone a girl or boy online if you don't see their face and only have a username to go off?
This isn't a political thing or anything, just curious. I think I have a fairly effeminate user name (Some variation of wiki), but apparently the way I type is masculine cause people always think I'm a guy.
One dude after talking to me and then seeing I had a picture even just assumed I was trans or something. (I'm not sure, he didn't like something I said and started calling tr**ny and I'm wearing a skirt and girl stuff...)
One person told me it's cause I don't use emojis which they consider a guy/girl difference, but I'm curious was other signs people use.

Do men and women type different? I guess I don't assume gender with text because I'm clueless about how different genders type apparently.
I will look at a username to get an idea though. Like I would think you are probably female because your username is chelsea.

I don't use emojis either. That's more an indicator of age, I suspect than gender. Aside from name, the ways I might tell, aside from taking someone's word for it, is if they automatically use male or female pronouns. Views on sexuality, such as seeing getting laid as a score, would strongly indicate male. But of course, everyone's different and not everyone fits gender stereotypes. In fact, I think a lot of people are unhappy in life because they feel they have to fit a gender stereotype.
My older brother was awesome. When we were younger, he could play with my "girl" toys all day with me and he enjoyed himself. He isn't gay or anything, but if he hasn't had a younger sister, he probably would have had guns and cars and such, but he wasn't into those things.
I'm rambling on tangents, aren't I?
